Faculty Evaluation
Faculty Evaluations provide flexibility to the evaluation of faculty. Evaluations can be developed and administered with the possibility of feedback from three different sources 1) students; 2) institutional groups, 3) and those outside the institution with whom the faculty professionally interact. Evaluations can be developed using a standard questionnaire format or the more powerful performance-based rubric format. Performance indicators with various performance levels can be developed for each of the criteria that are used to evaluate faculty performance. If desired, faculty can add their own criteria for evaluation. Faculty or administrators can also request others to complete an evaluation.
Faculty and/or administrators can easily determine the scope of the evaluation process by choosing who should respond to the evaluation. Evaluations can be developed to assess teaching methods, research, collaboration, professional interactions with external stakeholders as well as other factors of importance to the faculty and the institution. Those who can easily respond to the evaluations include students, faculty colleagues, administrators and those external to the institution. Reports that are generated can be used to document successful performance and identify opportunities for improvement. They can also be used to support the faculty promotion and tenure review process and enhance faculty curriculum vita.
